Spotlight: November 16 - 22 is American Education Week
This week marks the National Education Association’s (NEA) 93rd annual celebration of American Education Week (AEW – hashtag #aew2014). There are a number of events and activities taking place, including the ramping up of the NEA’s Educator for a Day program and a partnership with Chevrolet to offer special pricing for educators. The NEA also encourages parents and community members to commit to doing a school service act this week and to share a photo or text update about it on a social media platform using the hashtag #aew2014. It can be an easy act, such as reading a story to a class or helping out in the school library. If you want more ideas, reach out to your child’s teacher. Please spread the word and help celebrate American Education Week and our nation’s public schools.
