The State Support Team Region 3 provides families of students with disabilities technical assistance and professional development in supporting students reach their fullest potential.  Parents can become involved with their child's learning by understanding the: 

• Academic Content Standards, 
• data collection and accountability, and
• how to support students with different learning styles.

This section will offer families information on educational supports, educational laws/regulations, and through parent engagement families can ensure their child:

• equality of opportunity,
• full participation,
• independent living, and
• economic self-sufficiency. 

Together families and districts can work together to support student achievement.  Several districts have Parent Mentors to assist families and students in their district as well special education issues.  For technical assistance or training opportunities contact the State Support Team staff:
