In May 2011, the ESC of Cuyahoga County was proudly selected as one of 10 ESCs to formally partner with the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) in implementing various aspects of Ohio’s Race to the Top (RttT) Strategy for the Northeast Ohio region. The Northeast Ohio region includes Cuyahoga County, but also Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit and Trumbull counties. Through this partnership the ESC of Cuyahoga County works with ODE, State Support Team Region 3, Mahoning County ESC, and the Northeast Ohio Regional Coordinator to provide project personnel, professional development and technical assistance to help school districts achieve their Race to the Top goals and performance measures.
The RttT Scope of Work, the RttT Coordinator or Specialist working with your Transformation Team can coordinate ESC support for district technical assistance, professional development or other support in implementing the district Scope of Work. A district can also contact Jennifer Dodd, Coordinator of Research and Planning, at Jennifer.Dodd@esc-cc.org to request assistance.

RttT Formative Instructional Practices (FIP) Regional Information Sessions
This informational session is designed to introduce LEA leadership teams to the RttT Formative Instructional Professional Development Project, FIP Your School Ohio. This professional development initiative is aligned to Application Area C3, Personalize Learning through Formative Instruction, as well as Ohio’s Professional Development Standards. Formative Instructional Practices Specialists (FIP Specialists) will work regionally to assist with planning for school-wide implementation, training of local facilitators and supporting professional learning communities. This session will provide details on how to get your LEA involved in FIP Your School Ohio and the resources that will be available to participating LEAs. RttT Formative Instructional Practices (FIP) Facilitator Training for LEA Internal Facilitators
As part of the RttT FIP Your School Ohio initiative, this one day training session will prepare selected LEA internal facilitators to lead Formative Instructional Practices (FIP) professional development locally. FIP Facilitators will use online learning modules and aligned facilitator resources to guide teacher teams in their professional learning. Facilitators will have access to additional online coaching resources, including an online learning module designed for instructional coaches.
Pre-Requisite: Prior to attending this session, participants should view and work through the first FIP module, Introduction to Formative Instructional Practices, available on Battelle for Kids' Ohio Student Progress Portal at http://portal.battelleforkids.org/Ohio.
