Below are links to information and resources regarding academic content standards: Early LearningFamily Guides to Early Learning Content Standards at the preschool and kindergarten levels are presented here to help parents understand what their children will be learning in school. By reading these guides, parents also can help reinforce what their children are learning so that they will feel more confident and successful in school.
Kindergarten
The Standards Guides for Families highlight some skills your child should know and be able to do at each grade. They are based on Ohio’s Academic Content Standards and are written to assist families to be active participants in their child's education. The "What this means" describes the standard. The bulleted statements under the "What this means" offer a few examples of things your child has to learn at that grade. The "Check your understanding" areas provide further information. The guides also include tips and activities you can do with your child. These assist families with extending learning beyond the classroom The guides are published in English and Spanish. The English guides are posted below in PDF formats. The PDF Reader Spreads have pages in order for review on screen. The PDF Printer Spreads have pages formatted so they can be printed and folded into booklets. The Spanish guides are posted in Microsoft Word.
