Family Council

Family Council offers a forum for families to exchange information and study various topics relating to the education of their children with disabilities. Each month (September through April) an education update, along with a specific presentation topic is offered. Family Council meets 9:30 am - 11:30 am.  A short business meeting precedes the presentation.

The purpose of the SST 3 Family Council is to:

• assist the SST 3 staff in planning services and educational programs for families and educational programs for families and educators of students with disabilities or who are at risk of having a disability
• provide information to SST 3 Boards, Councils and Committees related to parent concerns for the education of students with disabilities
• provide a forum for families to exchange information and study various topics relating to the education of their children with disabilities
• provide information and education to Family Council representative s to enable them to facilitate effective family-school engagement with their respective school districts.
