Parent Academies were developed by the Ohio Department of Education to help parents, caregivers, and guardians to support their child’s learning and development. The Parent Academy on Conditions for Learning focuses on improving a child’s ability to learn in school by addressing conditions such as health, nutrition, and the safety and supportiveness of home and school environments.

The workshop engages parents in discussion on:
providing effective support for learning at home;
supporting children during critical school transitions;
addresses bullying; and
working with school administrators and teachers to create caring and safe school environments.
