OST Item Analysis- Session Two
Thursday, January 30, 2020
Topic:   Behavior & Climate
Sponsored by:   ESC-NEO
Presenter(s):   Mindy Geschke
Description:

This two-session workshop series will guide districts in data-mining their OST item analysis data.

Session 1: Participants will create a comprehensive data file which includes educative metadata including OLS strand, cluster, standard, anchor standard, points and modeling/reasoning. It is recommended participants have a working knowledge of Excel/Sheets (copy/paste, delete rows/columns)

Session 2: Spreadsheet tools will be utilized for analysis and interpretation of the data created from Session 1. The output of this analysis serves as a concise, actionable resource teachers and teams can utilize in their instructional planning based upon the results of students in their building/district.

Once complete, the analysis can:

be used by TBTs to inform curricular areas of focus

spotlight trends and patterns over time (3 years math and science, 2 years language arts)

Provide meaningful data representations for teachers by grouping performance results by strand/cluster/standard/anchor standard.

Disclaimer: This session will provide the base templates for participants to use to create a data table with their district data. Participants will learn how to use spreadsheet tools to implement the PROCESS in their district with their data. Alternately, if you are interested in contracting with the ESC of Northeast Ohio to complete the analysis for your district, please see http://bit.ly/OST_Reports or contact [email protected] for more information.
