Description:   Ohio School Districts and Community Schools are required to meet certain criteria on their report cards regarding the K-3 Literacy Improvement Measure.

When districts do not meet this criteria for two consecutive years, they are required to engage in creating a Reading Achievement Plan for the district or community school.  

During this professional development session, participants will:

Explore and understand the 5 big concepts of literacy.

Use the 5 big concepts of literacy to begin to develop reading support for students by scaffolding supports for readers who are struggling

Learn the basic components of the Reading Achievement Plan.

Understand how the Reading Achievement Plan ties to other plans and structures already in-place within the district (such as OIP, CCIP, etc.).

With support, create a Reading Achievement Plan
Audience:   School Districts and Community Schools that are required to complete a Reading Achievement Plan. Teams are required to send 2-4 district leadership team members. Include 1 person who has the authority to access/submit the plan.
Preference given to Cuyahoga County
