There is growing recognition of the need for trauma-informed practices in classrooms and how they are the foundation for equitable, safe, and supportive schools and learning environments for our students.  In this program, Meryl Johnson, a member of the State Board of Education, will share her expertise about the causes and approaches to supporting students and families who are experiencing trauma in their lives. Roundtable discussions led by district leaders who are initiating practices to support students will engage participants in an exchange of ideas and best practices toward creating classrooms, schools, and districts that are trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and supportive.
