High quality, explicit, systematic instruction should be a core part of your reading instruction and is absolutely essential for students who are at risk for reading difficulties. Day 1: Learn the developmental sequences of phonological and phonemic awareness, reflect on your current assessment practices and explore several diagnostic instruments for assessing phonemic awareness and learn and practice evidence-based instructional techniques.
