This network is for anyone who is involved with the instruction of students with signifcant cognitve disabilities/low incidence (SCD/LI)disabilites.  The network meets quarterly to collaborate on best practices for the instruction of students with SCD/LI and supports for teachers and administrators.  Each meeting will address a specific topic that is timely and relevant to the group.  Topics may include literacy, assistive technology, communication, transition, etc.  We will collaborate on ideas and supports and often create and review documents and provide feedback throughout the process.  We will discuss instruction and assessment practices for students with SCD/LI in light of the revised Ohio Learning Standards-Extended.  Topics will vary from session to session but the overall agenda for each session will include:
  • Discussing topics, products, processes and research
  • Sharing best practices among participants
  • Coaching leaders to build their capacity to move the work forward
  • Strenghening implementation processes
