Description:  
 Increase Student Engagement Using Discourse and Performace Tasks - Grades 1-8
Teachers will learn a variety of classroom practices that promote higher order thinking.  From structured student-to-student talk to performance tasks, teachers will leave with a toolbox of strategies and assessments that are engaging and meaningful.  Teachers will learn techniques that allow them to create a classroom community in which students work collaboratively in support of one another’s learning.  Teachers will appreciate the new learning and also the opportunity to deepen current knowledge.  Teachers will easily apply their learning to gain greater insight into students’ understanding and more efficiently monitor their growth. 

PD hours will meet ODE’s  requirements for teachers of gifted students.

Registration cost includes the book Great Performaces as well as a quick reference Guide
