The
Level I Certification course is designed to prepare teachers to effectively
implement Steps 1-6 of the Wilson Reading System with students reading and
spelling below grade level and those diagnosed with a language-based learning
disability. Participants will demonstrate mastery of the Wilson lesson plan,
including multisensory techniques and effective strategies in a 1:1 setting.
Program Overview

A year-long cohort that involves both online and Wilson Trainer
seminar instruction, and at minimum, a 60-lesson practicum with a student who
falls between the 5th to the 30th percentile with a minimum total reading score
of 2.0.

at the ESC of Northeast Ohio, 6393 Oak Tree Blvd., Independence, 44131)
Registration at 7:30 AM and Training is from 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

(5) Five mandatory implementation meetings scheduled through the 2018-2019 school year. Held at the ESC of Northeast Ohio.
Additionally,
the Wilson Trainer will visit each teacher/student pair (5) five times during
the school year, providing demonstrations and observations, with written and
verbal feedback.
Must have completed Wilson 3 Day Introduction.

Cost: $2,600 per person (does not include teacher
or student materials) plus, mileage reimbursement
Mileage Calculations: Round-trip, for 5 mandatory
observations per individual, conducted by the trainer.
There will be an additional charge of $60 per hour, for
travel time that exceeds 1 hour each way.
Mileage based on the current Federal Rate at the
time of observations.
Member districts will be invoiced back for the
expenses incurred by the ESC of Northeast Ohio.
