Description:  

This will be an inquiry to action workshop.  Participants will learn about what it means to be an abolitionist and anti-racist in educational settings.  The workshop will include a presentation by Dr. Bettina Love, followed by facilitated small group discussions to develop action plans for your classroom or school.  After groups share their action plans, Dr. Love will provide feedback.  Dr. Love's book We Want to Do More Than Survive: Abolitionist Teaching and the Pursuit of Educational Freedom will be available for sale before, during, and after the workshop.

Audience:   This event focuses on educators in any setting-PreK-12, college/university, after school, arts/music, sports.

Parking Information and Costs: 

We are working on securing validated parking for Cleveland State University's Central Garage, 1900 E. 21st St, Cleveland, OH 44115, https://www.csuohio.edu/parking/central-garage. If it becomes available, we will send you a validation code to present at the garage. Otherwise event parking will be available for $8.00 in the Central Garage. Visitor parking is also available for a fee in Lot 22 accessible from 22nd Street ($10 for 4 hours). Metered parking may be found on nearby streets ($ until 6pm, free after 6pm). Dining Information:

Dinner is brown bag/on participant's own. There are many restaurants around CSU and in the Student Center. Personal food is allowed to be brought in to the workshop.
