THIS IS A TWO DAY TRAINING- September 12 and October 9 - YOU MUST
ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS AND COMPLETE A JOB-EMBEDDED CAPSTONE PROJECT.
NOTE: Participants who enroll in this module are required to
participate in both sessions 1 and 2 and complete a job-embedded capstone
project. Participants will receive 15 contact hours that can be
used for licensure renewal; and qualify for a two-year renewal of their OTES
credential. Participation in this module DOES NOT satisfy the requirement
for initial OTES credentialing.
Session 1 (of 2): Instructional Coaching and Professional
Growth Plans
normal;background:#DFDFDF'> Session one builds a foundational understanding of
instructional coaching and how the multiple principles, skills and approaches
related to coaching can be embedded within the teacher evaluation process. Leaders will refine skills focusing upon
supporting teachers through the creation of professional growth plans that
support teacher ownership and reflection.
Session 2 (of 2): Feedback, Dialogue and
Targeted Observations
Session two explores methods to enhance and improve dialogue and
questioning skills as applicable to the OTES process. Instructional leaders use
teachers’ professional growth plans to facilitate meaningful targeted
observations. Topics include post-conference planning, recognizing and
eliminating bias, and facilitating crucial conversations to support teacher
growth and reflection.
Participants
must register for both days (Session 1, Session 2) in STARS
