The Ohio Arts Assessment Literacy Collaborative is a joint project of the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education and Battelle for Kids. The professional development will be presented for all four arts disciplines – Dance, music, theatre and visual arts.

The presenters will introduce a method to create assessments with rigor. Participants will see how prioritizing the standards help them align the standards to their assessments. Additionally they will be able to identify the depth of knowledge of a standard, and relate it to the assessment item.

Participants will work on activities from all four of the disciplines as practice. Types of response items and their benefits and challenges will be covered. Participants will create blueprints which aid in documenting the rigor of their assessments and assist in creating assessments which constantly increase the rigor. Access to the online field tested assessments in all four disciplines will be provided.
