Teaching effectively in diverse classrooms and building strong family-school partnerships has become more complex than ever – particularly when our student and family communities represent changing cultural, linguistic, racial, and economic experiences that are distinct from our own. Dr. Debbie Zacarian, co-author of “In It Together: How Student, Family & Community Partnerships Advance Engagement & Achievement In Diverse Classrooms” will be sharing ways that we can strengthen our partnerships with students and families to: • Build coalitions of support around student learning and engagement • Develop positive and active relationships with students, their families and their communities • Foster positive, reciprocal partnerships • Promote peer-to-peer relationship building • Support inclusive practices for the entire community of students and families
