Northeast Ohio educators are realizing the many
challenges associated with transitioning to online learning environments, and
professional development providers are experiencing the same challenges. The
ESC of Northeast Ohio is offering two sessions that provide guidance in
developing online professional learning opportunities for supporting teachers
as they navigate the world of online learning.
Don’t
throw the baby out with the bathwater! Using Ohio’s Professional Development
Standards in Moving Professional Learning Online
This session explores Ohio’s
Professional Learning Standards and the resources developed by the Ohio Department
of Education for using the Standards to develop high quality professional
learning that aligns with the ESSA guidelines for professional development:
“sustained, intensive, collaborative, job-embedded, data-driven, and
classroom-focused.” The session will focus on the usefulness of the Standards and
the associated resources as tools to help support the transition of high
quality professional learning into the new normal of virtual learning.
