Description:  

The developmental screening process will be defined and discussed. ASQ-3 provides a  look at how children are doing in important areas, such as communication, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving skills. ASQ-3 can help identify a child’s strengths as well as any areas where a child may need support. The importance of screening children’s development, from ages three months through five years will be presented. The Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) tool for screening development will be reviewed and participants will be shown how to conduct screenings with the ASQ and who/how to make referrals for developmental red flags. This training features the revised ASQ:ASQ3.

 

Audience:   New/never trained PSE and ECE teachers and Itinerant teachers, related service providers that serve preschool children and supervisors/administrators for ODE funded preschool programs.
