Description: |
Special Education Compliance 101 for Administrators Workshop is designed for Building and District Administrators who are assigned the role of "district representative" for Evaluation Team Report meetings (ETR) and Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings. Participants will learn about the Office for Exceptional Children (OEC) System for Monitoring Special Education Compliance and Continuous Improvement. New requirements will have a stronger emphasis on results driven accountability along with compliance monitoring of IEPs and ETRs. Building level tips and recommendations to better organize to ensure compliance and quality service throughout the year will also be discussed. All participants are requested to bring at least two written IEPs with the student’s name redacted to the workshop. IEP Work Sessions are available to give participants a chance to apply their learning to their own documents and receive feedback. You must have attended the Special Education Compliance 101 for Administrators Workshop in order to attend any IEP Work Sessions (participants are welcome to attend more than one Work Session). You can also choose to attend only the workshop and not attend the half-day work session. |
