Edward Flegel, SST3 |
Description: |
SPP Indicator 13 has the highest level of non-compliance per OEC. Secondary transition training, with an emphasis on age appropriate transition assessment, postsecondary goals, transition services/activities, and courses of study, is one resource for district personnel who are new to secondary transition planning and for those who want to continue to improve and build their transition planning skills with an emphasis on IEP Sections 1-6. Small group transition IEP ‘monitoring’ activities and an introduction to backward planning will assist in making transition planning meaningful. This training is appropriate for all staff who participate on an IEP team including general education instructors and parents. Case managers will be required to provide the presenter with a draft IEP post-training to determine effectiveness of training.
