In 1914, Ohio’s 80^th General Assembly recommended the establishment of county boards of education for each of Ohio’s 88 counties, the initial model of county boards of education has evolved into the Educational Service Center (ESC) of today. Our Educational Service Center, located in the heart of Cuyahoga County, has grown into one of the largest service centers in the State of Ohio.

Although initially charged with the task of “elevating the state’s system of education to a proper standard,” today, the Educational Service Center (ESC) of Cuyahoga County is viewed as a regional hub, and plays a vital role in delivering special education and gifted services, assisting in fiscal services and purchasing consortiums, providing high-quality technical assistance and professional development services. The ESC serves as the conduit and delivery system for Ohio’s school improvement and other education reform efforts.

With nearly a century of proven leadership, and because of the pivotal role that we play, the ESC of Cuyahoga County recognizes the importance of collaboration and continued partnership with countless agencies, universities, businesses and our local leaders to provide high–quality programs, products and services that are designed to support our schools, community and the region.
