HQT for Moderate to Intensive Intervention Specialists
At the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, intervention specialists of students with disabilities eligible for the Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disability (AASCD) in grades 7-12 are required to meet increased highly qualified teacher (HQT) requirements by completing professional development for each core content area that they are the teacher of record. To prepare for this change, it is important that intervention specialists impacted by this change understand the options available to them in meeting the HQT requirements.
